As a Patient Experience Leader in the healthcare sector, I witnessed firsthand how a holistic and humanizing approach to care could transform the way patients engaged with their care plans. By focusing on the whole person— utilizing holistic techniques to address their physical, emotional, and social needs—we not only saw an increase in patient satisfaction scores but also a deeper receptiveness from patients to the care they received. The results were clear: when individuals are treated with dignity and respect, they respond more positively and embrace the care being provided.

 

With this in mind, I realized that our unhoused individuals deserve the same level of compassionate, humanizing care. This led me to create Rinse & Rise Spa Ministries, where we aim to offer more than just basic hygiene and temporary relief. We focus on fostering an environment that restores dignity, promotes community, and provides unseen holistic support—because just like in the hospital setting, when people feel seen, valued, and cared for as a whole person, they are more likely to engage positively in their journey toward stability.

By bringing this model of care to the unhoused, we are offering them a space where they are not just recipients of services, but respected individuals on a path toward renewal and empowerment.
